An interesting little tidbit

I am attaching an article that all the stay-at-home moms who read this will love. I have been both a working mother and a stay-at-home mother and each has its challenges. I simply wish that there wasn't such a polarization between moms who make different decisions. However, I do really like the response of the lady in this article. Especially the part about constantly putting your needs to the second tier. It just happens and somehow I think that is the whole point of why God gave us children.

A girl with a plan

Tonight Alyssa was praying before bed time and ended the prayer something like this:

"Please help me stop aggravating Isaiah. Please help Isaiah and me to stop fighting and please help Isaiah not to kick me, bite me or kill me."

Sibling rivalry is just glorious, isn't it!

The other day before school, we were getting in the car and Isaiah has to crawl in the back seat when we are taking Alyssa to school. She was already in her seat while he was getting in and evidently, Isaiah was cramping her style. She said "Isaiah, you are in my personal space. I am going to tell Mrs. Buck (the counselor at school that talks to the kids about life skills each week) that you are in my personal space and you will have to go to personal space camp."

Snow in TN

Hannah Snowtannah! Alyssa, Isaiah and our friends Lindsey and Ashley.

You may think that this went on the snowman, but it was actually Isaiah's snowball!

This was the extent of Ella's playing in the snow.

No matter how much we got, the kids had FUN!!!!!
Our tall cheerleader. She is a head taller than almost everyone else.

Mad Skillz!!!!!

Not sure what the look is, but isn't he cute!

Go upward Go!!!!

A visit from friends

Ok, so I still don't have my camera fixed. We are working on a solution. However, our friends Ann, Tiffany, Lindsey and Ashley Musser have been visiting since Friday, so I will be posting some of their pictures soon! I am not too proud to be a picture mooch!

Anyway, we have REALLY enjoyed the visit! It has been great to catch up and the kids have really had a good time. Isaiah especially! Ann used to babysit for him when he was a baby, so her girls are like sisters to him. It is so fun to watch how much he adores them. Alyssa has been a little bit of a pistol, but seems to have turned it around today. She never ceases to amaze us with some of the challenges she presents us. I think God is trying to teach us (particularly me) humility and how much I DON'T control!

The kids loved having Ann and the girls at their basketball and cheerleading games. We also went bowling last night and Isaiah beat EVERYONE. No kidding he got a 144 the first game. He did have the bumpers up, but seriously! It was HILARIOUS! He thought he was so big and only cared about beating Ms. Ann. Fun.

We got our first big snow that was worth playing in here today. And, a big snow is about 3/4 of an inch. However, there is a snow princess in our front yard (thanks to Gran) and a snowball fight ensued. Ella wasn't sure about the snow. I will post some pictures later!

Back to routine

AHHHHH--The holidays are great every year, but I am always longing for our routine to start back up. Today Alyssa headed back to school and she looked just like a teenager (HA HA--That is what she says every day when she gets dressed.) And, shortly after she was gone, Isaiah looked at me and said "Mom, I don't want to go anywhere today, I just want to stay here and hang out with you." So sweet, but what he was really saying was --"I'm glad Alyssa's not here." I can read between sibling lines.

Funny--Last night, Alyssa and Tim were doing something and she said "Eeeny, Meeny, Miny, Mo, Catch a tiger, BITE it's toe." Awesome!

And, last night was Alyssa's last cheerleading practice before her first game. I hate to say it, but she LOVES it. She got her uniform, complete with pom-poms, a megaphone and matching hair bow and put every single bit of it on last night (except the pom-poms, which I have painfully separated today one stupid little plastic piece at a time. What a nightmare.) This is so right up her alley, so hopefully, I will have some kind of footage to share with you after Saturday's game.

This one's for Ash

Hi all! I haven't blogged for quite some time and Ashley sent me a note to get me in gear! Sorry. At first it was the holidays and then I dropped our camera and I am afraid it is dead. So, I don't have any cute holiday pics to share either! Oh well. We do have some funnies though:

Alyssa after church yesterday - "Dad, I know what the 3 gifts were that the wise men took Jesus. Gold, Frankenstein and myrrh."

Isaiah asked today - "Mom, what would happen if the whole world came to Tennessee and all went to Wal-mart at the same time?" Alyssa answered, "Duh, Isaiah, the people at Wal-mart would not understand Chinese."

And, Ms. Ella's favorite term these days is "Awwww, maaaannn". Can you tell she is a toddler or what. Too much Dora!

Anyway, our holiday was GREAT. We are very blessed. The kids got crazily spoiled and we are still finding homes for all our new STUff. Purging helps some. Overall, it was a great time and we were sad to see daddy go back to work today.
